Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026

Radara is built privacy-first. You can browse completely anonymously, and everything you post is encrypted at rest. Your precise location is never collected unless you deliberately share it — for your own safety, with the people you trust.

1. What we collect

Your account

You can use Radara without an account at all — no sign-up required to browse. If you choose to create an account, we store your email address and a hashed password. The password itself is never stored. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive only the unique identifier those providers share with us — no additional profile data from them.

Your location

To show you what is happening nearby, we use your approximate location — snapped to a coarse zone of around 250 metres, not your exact position. We do not store a history of where you have been.

Precise location is used in two specific situations, and only when you choose them:

Signals you post

The content, type, approximate location, and timestamp of each signal you drop. Signals auto-expire and are encrypted at rest.

Safety and operational data

During an SOS we log the device model alongside each location breadcrumb to help responders understand the context. We also keep minimal technical data needed to keep the service running and safe — things like rate-limit counters and encrypted records of IP and device information for abuse and child-safety investigations.

2. What we do not do

3. How we protect your data

All content is encrypted at rest with AES-256 and transmitted over TLS. You only ever receive decrypted content you are authorised to see — the platform never exposes ciphertext to clients. Encryption keys are managed in a dedicated secret store and are never embedded in our apps.

4. Who we share data with

We share data in three situations only: signals you choose to broadcast are public by design; infrastructure providers who host and operate the platform are bound by data-processing agreements; and we disclose to law enforcement or regulatory authorities when required by law or to protect the safety of users, including child-safety escalations (see our Child Safety Standards).

5. How long we keep it

Signals expire automatically. SOS sessions end the moment you stop sharing, or on timeout; the encrypted breadcrumb trail is retained only for safety and forensic purposes and is purged on a defined schedule. You can delete your account in-app at any time — this removes your profile, circle links, and active SOS data. You may also request a copy, export, or deletion of your data at any time.

6. Your rights

Under applicable law — including Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) and equivalent legislation — you have the right to access, correct, export, or erase your personal data. Write to us and we will handle your request promptly.

7. Contact
